Vision Statement
Our vision is to focus on acceptance of others and celebration of individual and cultural differences. We at Emanuel Lutheran Day Care are here to act on behalf of the children and families of the community of Modesto by providing loving, positive, and developmentally appropriate care for their children. "By building Christ centered, positive, trusting relationships, we nurture the spiritual growth of children and strengthen families," (Page 3, ECE Program, ELCA Schools)
Learning
It is important to realize that playing is the work of children. Children learn best through hands-on experimentation. Science projects are introduced to your child as he/she learns physics, chemistry and properties of color combinations and how science plays a part of every day life. Activities considered basic infant care, such as diapering and feeding provide a learning bonding experience. This individual attention serves as a time in which the caregiver talks, sings, and laughs with your child, facilitating language, social and emotional development. Interaction through play in the classroom and outdoors allows your child to develop social skills through positive group experiences. Our curriculum is designed to nurture your child to grow socially, spiritually, and emotionally.
A Christ-Centered Classroom
Children in our program will learn about Jesus and his love through daily Bible lessons, prayer, chapel, and through the speech and conduct of our staff. The individual growth of the children's spiritual lives will be facilitated by our staff and educational program. We teach that God loves everyone. Children will know that God wants us to love one another and be kind, loving, and generous with all people. We take pride in providing a safe, secure, learning environment.
